    The pleasure of August

August brought much warmer, sunnier weather, enough to ripen our most demanding vegetables and fruits!

I loved nibbling on Mexican cucumbers as an aperitif, devouring my first little white watermelon & tasting my first tomatoes.

Still far from having enough production to do without our vegetable shopping, especially as we eat them for lunch and dinner, we still had the great satisfaction of tasting our first harvests.

The eggplants are still too small & the butternuts are getting ready for autumn, but the chillies and peppers are already delighting us!

Tristan has not only planted enough food to eat, we also have a variety of plants and flowers that attract pollinators, and I’m always greeted by a dozen butterflies when I arrive at the greenhouse.

Cosmos, nasturtiums, bidens, ipomeas, sunflowers… all look beautiful under the warm rays of the August sun, and I take great pleasure in wandering through the alleys of the vegetable garden armed with my camera. I imagine you’ll enjoy it too 😉
